FAQ’s

Do I need to do anything before a session?

Our sessions will be online, so the only things you need to do are make sure your computer or laptop is fully charged or plugged in, and that your phone(s) and alarms are switched off or silenced. This is so your session won’t be interrupted, particularly during trance.  I also suggest you have a blanket and cushion or pillow ready for trance so that you’re nice and comfortable and don’t get cold.  This is a possibility as your body temperature may drop slightly during trance.

NB – It’s the client’s responsibility to ensure that their confidentiality is maintained wherever they are during online sessions.  In other words, as with any therapy session, you’ll want to be somewhere private.

What happens in a session?

Our first session will be a free 45 minute long Initial Consultation. You’ll tell me a bit about yourself and what you’d like to change in your life.  Then, I’ll give you a fascinating look at how our brains work and why you’re feeling the way you do.  Most people find this brain explanation extremely helpful in understanding their feelings, thoughts and behaviours. This alone can begin to initiate change in many clients.

In subsequent sessions, we’ll spend a few minutes talking about what’s been good in your week and see how you’re feeling now. Then we’ll move on to how you’d like to see things change for the better.  That takes roughly half of our time and the rest of the session is where you get to lie back and relax in hypnosis.

How will I feel while I’m in hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a completely natural state and although you will feel very relaxed, you will be aware and fully in control, a bit like when we’re daydreaming.  Afterwards, you will still feel relaxed and very likely, pleasantly refreshed.

How many sessions will I need?

Many people notice small changes after only one or two sessions and most usually have between eight and twelve sessions, sometimes fewer, sometimes more. I have found, though, that the clients who have the best and fastest results are the ones who listen to my relaxation audio every night before they go to sleep, as instructed, even if they don’t hear all of it. It’s really important to do this as it makes a huge difference to your success. It’s also a wonderful way to drift off to sleep!
